"ألف باء" هو الكتاب الأول في سلسلة الكتاب الدراسي المعروف باسم "الكتاب". لايفترض الكتاب، في هذه الطبعة الثالثة، أي معرفة سابقة باللغة العربية، ويهدف إلى تعليم الطلاب الأبجدية العربية والعبارات الأساسية، بالإضافة إلى بعض المعلومات الثقافية الأساسية. الكتاب مصحوب بقرص مدمج مرئي( فيديو) يحتوي على تمارين في ملفات صوتية ومرئية ومعلومات توضح كيفية الوصول إلى الموقع المصاحب للكتاب. لابد من دفع مقابل مادي للوصول إلى الموقع المصاحب للكتاب بصورة منفصلة؛ ولكن تتيح نسخة كتاب المعلم الوصول مجاناً للموقع المصاحب وكذلك إمكانية خلق رابط لقاعة الدراسة عبر الموقع.
Alif Baa is the primer that starts the Al-Kitaab series of books. Now in its third edition, Alif Baa assumes no prior knowledge of Arabic and teaches the alphabet and basic phrases as well as some basic cultural information. The book comes with a DVD that includes audio and visual exercises and information on how to connect to a companion website. Access to the website must be purchased separately; the teacher’s edition has free access and the ability to set up a link to the class via the website.
