This five-lesson unit introduces students to fundamental geographic aspects of Qatar. Students are then guided through selective readings that highlight some commonalities between Qatari and Western teens, as well as challenges faced by present-day Qatari youth. Finally, attention is then directed to national issues of modernization and the ever-increasing exposure to Western influences. This unit includes interactive computer activities, individual and group work, readings, video, and a summative assessment. >
