These set of four standards aligned lesson plans accompany the film, “Garbage Dreams” which portrays the lives of three teenage boys growing up in the world’s largest garbage village in Cairo, Egypt. These teenagers are eventually forced to make life changing decisions when their community is faced with the globalization of its trade. The language used in the film is Egyptian Colloquial and it includes English subtitles. The lesson plans are designed for students to contemplate upon and discuss the concept of recycling and the globalized economy. >
