Music played an important role in garnering support for the Arab uprisings of 2011 and rallying people together. Music also is a powerful way to introduce the Arab uprisings to students and spark their interest in the topic. Hip hop was, and continues to be, a particularly poignant tool that enables the expression of social and political discontent.
