Description:

Jews lived in Iraq for centuries, but by the 1970s, most had left the country. In 2003, US soldiers found thousands of documents and books from the Jewish community in the flooded basement of Iraqi intelligence headquarters. A team from the National Archives preserved these documents, cataloged them, digitized them and made them available on this website. Through this resource, you can view the digital exhibit or search through hundreds of primary sources, which serve as great materials for the classroom. >
