The poem is a Romeo and Juliette-like love story that represents the Kurdish longing for their homeland. This lesson plan includes discussion questions for use while watching the film as well as an activity and graphic organizer that helps students think about celebrations of life cycle events as they compare across cultures. This lesson assumes knowledge of Kurdish history. >
