Description:

Following World War I, the Allied Powers divided the former Ottoman Empire into the geographical region of the Middle East as we know it today. This two part resource introduces students at the high school level to the geography and history of the region. Once equipped with this information, students will engage in a role-play simulation, taking on various ethnic and religious groups, through four rounds that correspond with historical time periods. The resource includes a graphic organizer and discussion questions that guides students through a critical analysis and debrief of the simulation activity. >
