This book begins with the alphabet and brings the student through various grammatical lessons. It can also be used to brush up on grammatical concepts, as each chapter includes exercises. The key is located in the back of the book. By the end, it is expected a student will be able to read a newspaper with the aid of a dictionary. This book has been updated several times since its appearance in 1986; the new 2010 edition can be purchased with or without CDs.
