This illustrated textbook is intended for first year Arabic students and incorporates both MSA and the Levantine dialect throughout the book in a way that reflects how the language is used by native speakers. The book spends time developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while teaching Arab history, society, and culture. The glossary serves both as a mini-dictionary as well as an introduction to the root and pattern system. A teacher’s manual is included with the student workbook as are audiotapes.
