تُمثّل هذه الوثيقة أولى الخطوات الجادة في صدد معالجة النقص في المصادر التقنية لتعريب ويندوز من مايكروسوفت. تقدّم الوثيقة موجهات حول إمكانية القراءة والطباعة باللغة العربية باستخدام النسخ القديمة من ويندوز وحتى ويندوز إكس بي، ومايكروسوفت ويرد حتى 2003، وكذلك إمكانية تصفّح شبكة الانترنت وغيرها من خدمات. وتحتوي الوثيقة أيضاً على معلومات حول كيفية طباعة الأرقام العربية/الهندية وكيفية تنزيل وتثبيت الخطوط العربية.
This document represents one of the first steps in addressing the lack of technological resources available for Arabicizing Windows. It provides instructions for enabling reading and typing Arabic in older versions of Windows up to Windows XP, Microsoft Word up to 2003, how to enable Arabic web browsing, and more. Information on how to type Arabic/Hindi numerals and where to download fonts is also included.
