تحتوي أشرطة الفيديو هذه على تمارين في المحادثة حيث يتدرب الدارسون على المبادئ الأساسية لقواعد اللغة العربية عن طريق الإجابة على أسئلة وإعطاء معلومات عن أنفسهم. كل الإرشادات الدراسية مكتوبة باللغة العربية، ما عدا بعض الحالات الاستثنائية حيث تستخدم اللغة الإنجليزية لشرح بعض نقاط قواعد اللغة. تُستخدْم في الأشرطة مستوى أساسي في اللغة العربية، ورغماً عن ذلك هنالك تركيز على الإعراب الصحيح ( التصريف والتشكيل وخصوصاً الحركة المحذوفة في آخر الكلمات التي توضح إعراب الاسم) تنقسم أشرطة الفيديو إلى حلقات منفردة بحيث تختص كل حلقة بموضوع مختلف من قواعد اللغة. يبلغ مجمل حجم الأشرطة ما يقارب ستة ساعات تشغيل.
These videos contain conversation drills in which students practice basic grammatical principles by answering questions and making statements about themselves. All of the instruction is in Arabic, with few exceptions where English is used to explain words or grammatical points. The level of the Arabic used is fairly basic, although there is strong emphasis on proper i’rab (full voweling of nouns, especially the usually omitted final short vowel which indicates the noun’s case). DVDs are broken down into “episodes,” which focus on different grammatical issues. There are approximately 6 hours of material.
