تم تحديث وتوسيع وتعزيز هذا القاموس في طبعة جديدة عام 2013. يستقى القاموس من قاعدة البيانات المعجمية الموسّعة للمفردات العراقية التابعة لجمعية البيانات اللغوية وبزيادة في عدد المفردات المستخدمة في الحديث اليومي المعاصر تبلغ 30% عن تلك الموجودة في القواميس الأصلية. يركّز هذا القاموس على الحديث بللغة العراقية العامية لأهالي مدينة بغداد الذين نالوا قدراً من التعليم ، ويفترض أن اللغة المستخدمة في المحادثات هي محور التركيز، وعليه لم يشتمل القاموس على مصطلحات فنية أو متخصصة. يعتمد القاموس على جذر الكلمة في المدخلات وكلها متاحة بطريقة كتابة الأصوات العربية بالحروف اللاتينية.
Updated, expanded, and enhanced for 2013, this new dictionary draws from the Linguistic Data Consortium’s extensive lexical database of colloquial Iraqi and includes 30% more terms for contemporary speech than were in the original dictionaries. It emphasizes the colloquial speech of educated residents of Baghdad and assumes that conversation is the primary focus–hence, technical or specialized terminology is not included. It is organized by root and is transliterated throughout.
