In this five lesson teaching unit, middle school students learn about the values, cultures and lifestyles of Iranian youth. Students read The Little Black Fish, an Iranian folktale and identify themes that relate to life as a teenager in both Iran and America. The unit culminates in the creation of their own readers’ theater based on the folktale.
