This is a scope and sequence meant to be used by teachers of intermediate level Arabic language students, for planning a unit around “careers”. Goals include:
- Explain to a friend how to stay healthy.
- Explain how and why it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
- Discuss ways to maintain good health.
- Write a letter to someone telling them about the dangers of obesity and how well balanced diet and exercise will help maintain a healthy lifestyle.
- Compare lifestyles of Americans and people in the Arab World in terms of health habits.
- Define the concept of human rights and human rights violations.
- Research Human Rights organizations and identify what human rights are.
- Create a non-profit organization promoting human rights.
- Identify human rights activists and give their profile.
- Recognize and identify ways in which human rights are respected and ways they are not
- Research the population of an Arab country.
- Conduct a census of the school population and evaluate the resources provided.
