This is a scope and sequence meant to be used by teachers of intermediate level Arabic language students, for planning a unit around “media and communication”. Goals include:
- List types of media in order of most popular.
- Identify the vocabulary and background associated with media and use them in meaningful conversation.
- Describe types of media orally and in written form.
- Talk about the role of media in my life.
- Create my own media messages.
- Research and evaluate different types of media.
- Summarize the main points in a news article and share it with others.
- Exchange emails with native speakers.
- Communicate with peers via social media networks
- Ask and answer questions about someone’s interests when it comes to the different types of media.
- Apply newly learned vocabulary and functional chunks in class discussion and writing.
- Write about the topic I like.
- Read a literary work and discuss it with peers.
- Express my ideas and informed opinions after conducting research.
